ORHS has acquired NYC caboose 21032 from a private owner's estate. We're in the process of moving it now. The car is complete as of the day retired and is in good condition inside and out. It needs minor brake work to be able to roll in its original intent as the conductor's cabin. A fresh coat of paint and stenciling is in its future, also.

I'll post images of both 21032 and recent arrival Reading 92920 soon.

Reminder: We're not all all-knowing or clairvoyant.

Who is ORHS?

There's a need to write it all out. First rule of publicity announcements: NEVER assume everyone knows who you are or what you do.

I was thumbing mentally through Oregon Rail Heritage Center, Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation, and various typos that could have swapped out or dropped a letter. And I won't even bring up high schools such as Oak Ridge and Oyster Bay...................

And Orrville never came to mind because there's no "sense" in a Reading caboose migrating there, except as random rolling stock.

Yup. My bad. Even my better half can't read my mind though by now I'd think she should. And, yes, the caboose is a "random" piece to the collection.

Here's 21032 before the move. It's now on the property and will be put back in service in the spring.
