| Post subject: | Baltimore's Mystery Steamer Flees Charm City |
Quite some time ago we had some discussion here about an undocumented, "unknown" steam locomotive under a tarp in a scrapyard on the east border of Baltimore City not far from Bayview Yard along CSX's ex-B&O main line. Asked by others, I went looking for it, and managed to walk right past it under its tarp before being politely told the owner wasn't there and they couldn't help me. In later years, the loco vanished along with the scrapyard. Others knew the loco had been removed, and it later turned up on Ozark Mountain Rail's website for sale. Enough information surfaced to give the loco a listing at SteamLocomotive.info albeit with conflicting reports: https://www.steamlocomotive.info/vlocom ... splay=1403 Now comes this report from TrainOrders.com: https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/ ... 10,5704317 Quote: I saw this steam locomotive being hauled on 695 West in Baltimore County yesterday. Any idea on the history? The photo is a match, as much as I can see from the tiny non-members thumbnail. Any ideas/guesses as to new owner, destination, etc.? UPDATE: Made it as far as Perrysburg, Ohio on the 3rd: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3795779 ... ently_seen |
