Sorry about the headline; I can't think of a better way to phrase it. The cars are NOT Norfolk Southern "business cars," but rolling stock acquired over the years for parts or potential conversion work that has never transpired. From Altoona Works' Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/altoonaworks/p ... cg8wFxDF6l Quote: The Everett Railroad has grown their passenger car roster by five. EV has acquired the five excess passenger cars at the Juniata Shops. The transaction includes NS 25, NS 37, "The Dunn Wagon," and the two former Ringling [Brothers & Barnum & Bailey circus train] elephant cars. All five cars have bare/gutted interiors. NS 25 came from TVRM in 2014 and had been stored at Altoona since then. NS 37 was a research support car (out of use since c2010) that came to NS from Conrail. It was built as a military hospital car. The Dunn Wagon was an MW bunk car. The two elephant cars were acquired in 2017 and had been stored at Altoona since then. Photos at the Facebook post. No membership needed to see them. |
