I have seen two pieces of 25 pound rail from two different locations drilled for six hole joint bars. Have any of you ever seen six hole bars for rail that light? If so were they straight bars or angle bars? |

Actually I have some 25# four hole angle bars, they came from the Badger munitions plant near Barraboo Wisconsin. I suspect that a lot of track components and even rail shapes that are now obsolete were once made. For example I know there are two base widths for 25# rail, 2 3/4, and 2 5/8. Also I sold some with odd head widths, narrower and wider, and neither was worn. All were 2 3/4 high. And then there is the odd stuff below 12#, I don’t think any standards were followed there. |
