Just thought everyone might want to know I am headed to Steamtown in the next few weeks to shoot some video of our ongoing restoration effort. I will be happy to give an update and make the video or some stills available to those interested either on the museum web site or on the Horseshoe Curve Chapter of the NRHS web site upon my return. I will be traveling with Andy Mulhollen, Board Member of the museum and Barry Claar, Special Project Coordinator. Barry is the individual based in Altoona overseeing the restoration. We will be visiting with our crew in Steamtown led by Bill Frederickson. Bill is the individual we hired to be on site in Scranton. Please, if this update starts the flaming all over again, it will be the last update I ever post concerning this locomotive.

Thanks

Thank you for the update Scott, I eagerly anticipate updates and pictures. During my ten weeks at Steamtown NHS I didn't get a chance to do anything on the K4s but I spent time when I could just looking at it, and talked a couple times to Bill in his few idle moments. Such an interesting machine, makes me regret even more that I was born too late to see these K4's and a lot of other engines running. I look forward to the day I can see and ride behind a live 1361.

Scott,

good luck in your endeavors and please keep us informed! I didn't get to see #1361 in operation in the '80s and I don't think she was at Steamtown yet in 1995 when I was there, but I look forward to seeing her reborn again in the near future.
