Post subject:  ST LOUIS PCC TO BE SOLD

The last 1600-series ex-St. Louis PCC, the 1664 is to be de-accessioned (disposed) by the St.Louis Musuem of Transport. It is in rough shape, but restorable and mostly complete. Built in 1941, the car is suffering from decades of unprotected storage. Text of their message follows:

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding our former SLPS PCC car. Unfortunately, due to decades of outside storage, the car is in very poor condition. We have determined to deaccession the car from our collection and attempt to find a new home for it. We are about to begin restoration of another SLPS PCC and unfortunately do not have the resources to restore #1664."

Hopefully someone with a 50x10 pole barn, and love of PCCs in the area can help
