Hello all, I'm working on a book version of my Alaska Shortline History website (https://saveitforparts.wordpress.com/pr ... of-alaska/). As I get closer to publishing, I'm looking for more last-minute photos or info on overlooked railroads in AK. I'm mostly ignoring the big players like the Alaska Railroad, CR&NW, WP&YRR, since they've been well documented. What I'm looking for are the obscure little mine / cannery / logging lines that only ran for a few miles or operated for a few years (see my link for examples). If any of you happen to have photos or maps of a strange railroad or tramway in Alaska, or a story about one in some out-of-the-way corner the state, I'd love to hear about it! I'd especially love stuff I could use in the book, but even if you don't want it published I'd still like to hear about it! You can reach me here or email gabe (at) saveitforparts (dot com). Thanks in advance! |

I'm speechless !!! While I have nothing to contribute to your magnum opus, I've got to say it sure looks like it's going to be one HELL of a book. Can't wait to see it, THANK YOU, and Best of Luck. |
