So, I am left to wonder, is this also a good way to stage #2816 in the east for the Fair of the Iron Horse? Notice, the excursion is one-way. Perhaps she will stay in Montreal for a bit, visit Steamtown and then join the gals for crabcakes down south? Rob trains@robertjohndavis.com |

Rob, Apparently the trip is taking place in 2004; sorry to burst your bubble. Still should be pretty awesome, if CP can pull it off. BTW, the dining car listed in the consist is currently being rebuilt from an old work car (a former sleeping car) the railway had kicking around. Another one sits at Calgary’s Alyth yard awaiting its turn for rebuilding into a dining car. Surprisingly, CP also has another work car — an actual former W-series dining car — nearby, but it apparently won’t be restored. Too bad. Oh, and that $26,000 is in U.S. funds, so that’s about $40 gazillion dollars Canadian.
