"Buyer's responsibility to verify quantities and condition at the time of pick up." seams to indicate no inspection prior to bid. looks like a good one to stay far away from. |

Sadly, it looks to me as if this car was insured and declared a 'total loss' of some kind (not difficult to determine from the picture supplied!) and this is an attempt to 'part it out' by non-preservationists. I wonder if any of the truck parts are salvageable, or have potential value... or other components on the car. There is an ACI tag in the photo of the truck, if someone could get a closeup perhaps one of the several here who can still read those could give us a car number. |

Plain bearing wheelsets from a rusted-out basket case being offered by a company that seems to know nothing about what they're selling. Those wheelsets have roughly zero value for re-use. No mystery here. |

That's a standard disclaimer for auctions, not specific to this lot. Basically saying "As-is, where is" again. It's pretty clear what's here. Doubt they'd be much use for operation. If you've got a coach you want to display that needs some trucks under it, might be useful. |

Laughing at the 40,000 metric tons of crane rail in a different listing. That's quite a lot of rail! Curious as to what size it might be, I took a closer look. They had a handy drawing. Height: A Base: B Head width: C and web thickness: T. Well, hey, that certainly clears things up! |

Rails in Europe generally don't use spikes, they are either bolted down or use clips. Perhaps the machine is for tightening the bolts? |

It looks like a mixed bag of sorts, when looking at their Archives page. On the first page alone, they’ve tried to sell Amtrak dining cars and “heritage cars”, both of which got no bids. On the other hand they’ve had bids on a pair of overhauled EMD SD40-3 locomotives, bids on a caboose…so while the descriptions may not be the best, they seem legit… https://www.salvex.com/archives/1165/# |

I’d also imagine that the demand for that style of truck may not be high in the grand scheme of things, but if the main components are sound, they could be reused converted to rollers. Though I’ll admit I’m not an expert on old Pullman trucks…. |
