Post subject:  C&TSRR Commission Meeting

Just got back from Antonito.
Barb & I guessed at probably a little over 70 people showed up. 45 or so from New Mexico.

Lt. Governor Diane Denish was there and spoke for New Mexico. We are going to have a train and the train is important to all. Not just Northern New Mexico. Open discussion for about 1 1/2 hours then a little after 11the commission went into executive session. A little after 2 they returned.

The RFP's are cancelled and starting Wed. the commission will start contract negotiations with the RGRPC for a operating contract. The commission will continue to do the engines and bids are out for the track work. I would guess the RGRPC will bid on the track work but I don't know that. One of the commissions priorities in the negotiations will be Marketing. It was also stated that if necessary we will have two shifts on the engines.
