From their Facebook post:

Quote:
Newly arrived in Chattanooga - former L&N SD40 Number 1230 - Last owned by First Energy at their now closed Stratton, OH plant. It will be used by our Tyner Terminal Railway to switch the VW plant. Plans are to eventually restore this engine to one of its earlier L&N paint schemes.

Is Tyner Terminal legally the same as TVRM? Or are the tyner locomotives owned by tvrm and leased to Tyner?

I know part of Tyner used to be CSX so I assume it’s old L&N territory which is pretty fun.

Tyner Terminal is a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of TVRM. Yes, a non-profit can do that.

L&N # 1230 in the above Newton Markley photo is running on the old Monon (Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville) Railroad. That is Hohman Ave. tower at the right and the ripped up track in the foreground is a remnant of the old Erie. Lots of preservation history in this photo including the story about the donation of the tower and it eventual being torn down when the City of Hammond was not able to find a new spot for it and move it off of Indiana Harbor Belt property. Also, just behind the photographer is the Erie Railroad bridge over the Little Calumet River which a scrapper came in and took down illegally.

Diverting briefly to other L&N preservation: Cedarwood repainted CSX 2625 with L&N paint and herald on the nose. Kinda like the contrapositive of the CSX L&N heritage scheme...
