Post subject:  Wilburton Trestle, Bellevue WA service to briefly resume

The Wilburton Trestle is a 1000 foot structure south of Bellevue, and it was a scenic point on the Eastside dinner train that used to run out of Woodinville. Most of that track has been removed and bike trails occupy the space. This trestle still stands, and though announcements made in 2016 that it would be converted by 2020 turned out to be not true, the project has maintained some momentum. The bike trail will be happening.

For a brief spell, the contractor Kraemer North America has brought out in recent days from Wisconsin an American locomotive crane and two cars to facilitate the conversion. Rails will be key in making the change happen! And perhaps some interesting operations may be observed on this remaining mile of track in the interim. I suppose they also may be working on the Northeast 8th Street bridge.
