Post subject: | ALERT: Steam Sounds on NPR Today |
Today, Friday, December 10, the "Lost And Found Sound" segment on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" (ATC) will feature recorded steam locomotive sounds and comments by engineers in West Virginia.
ATC is broadcast on public radio stations throughout the United States (and I believe rebroadcasted overseas by the Armed Forces Network)at various times but, most usually at 5:00 p.m. local time.
Nominally 90 minutes long (stations in some areas don't carry all of it), ATC often repeats its features once in the course of a broadcast. So, you might get two chances to hear this. And maybe more, depending on location....
In the Washington, DC Area, ATC begins at 4:00 p.m. on WETA (90.9 FM) and goes to 6:30. Then it begins again at 6:30 p.m. on WAMU (88.5 FM).
For those of us in rush hour with an "I'd rather be taking the train" bumper sticker, roll those windows down, turn the volume waaaay up loud, and lean out that cab window.
Linked in cyberspace, let's share the moment!
Phil Padgett
ebt4evr@aol.com |
