Not directly railroad related, but once a proud resort that was very heavily associated with the Chesapeake & Ohio-- https://westvirginiawatch.com/2024/08/0 ... ioned-off/ |

A bit of commentary on this very old school resort-- A person I worked with who had the opportunity to go there for meetings commented that the rooms were actually a bit on the Spartan side, and didn't even have televisions. But remember, this place also has riding, golf, swimming, mineral springs, tennis, and some of the best food in West Virginia. Why would you want to be cooped up in a room in a place like this? |

As far a TV's not being present, what do you expect when Forsythe Associates (CIA cover company) left after the secret nuclear bunker was outed. Forsythe was supposedly in charge of maintaining the TV's for the Greenbrier Resort. |

A reminder that this was also the place where there was a proposal to run a private passenger train from Washington DC to the resort--supposedly involving C&O 614 in the plans at one point........ |

A legal maneuver by the lender to bring the owners to the table. Marriott looked over the resort at the time CSX put it up for sale. My wife and I visited the hotel for the bunker tour. The tour was excellent. The hotel seemed tired with its mid century decor. Wesley |

When UP sold Sun Valley, the hotel rooms didn't have their own bathrooms. The resort was a mid-thirties European like resort. |
