There is (or was) a thread on this page that mentions 2100 was almost a movie star. There are no details other than readers must pay to join an organisation.

Reading 2124 was in a movie filmed in 1959 and in theatres in 1960.

From the Terrace is a movie based on a John O'Hara novel. O'Hara was from Pottsille PA' which he called Gibbsville in his books. It features train scenes on the RDG Main Line. The producers must have been astonished that a complete Reading passenger train with an appropriate steam wngine was available and could be filmed exactly where O'Hara placed it, except Reading Terminal, where a T-1 was too heavy.

They filmed the terminal scenes in CNJ's Jersey City Term. A dividend was that the RDG Wall Street consist was there weekdays on a Phila-JC; JC-Phila turn.

Myrna Loy, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward starred and put a horseshoe-shaped floral piece on 2124's smokebox front with the legend "Worlds Biggest Star."

Can't forget 2102, which appeared in 1984's Maria's Lovers, with the footage being shot in 1983

My goodness, Wikipedia even gave 2102 credit as guest locomotive!
