This post is making the rounds on Facebook and other social media sites (have yet to see it on the AOTT page)

What does Ross Rowland have planned for the locomotive?

I don't want to start any rumors, as I want to hear from him on this forum regarding the paint job that 614 received

No one is under any obligation to announce any future plans to anyone.

But we can only hope......... if for no other reason than it's about the most modern and potentially trouble-free "mainline steam" loco in North America now.........................

I'm not at liberty to say anything quite yet but things are looking very positive for the 614.

Please be patient a little longer and know that your support and interest are appreciated.

More soon, thanks, Ross Rowland

I've now heard rumors about Ross selling 614 to a private party but I highly doubt this

May he please confirm that he still retains ownership in the locomotive?

Maybe the folks that stepped away from VMT and promoted the 611 operation in Goshen, worked a deal w/ Ross. Just an idea. Would make it easier for them, eliminate the VMT bs while maintaining a operation on that line

IF and WHEN that loco is switched into a shop facility, THEN you can get your hopes up.

Until then: Just get your photos or ignore it.

Although a great idea and it's very likely that that scenario may have been looked at, that's not the end buyer. Would have been great if it was since the infrastructure and operating plan exists from the trips last year.

You hit the nail on the head in that you would have to eliminate the BS that is and goes on with VMT. Considering that their vice president and a few others actively worked against the people who pulled off the Goshen trips last year, any operation that wants to be successful would not want to be tied to VMT at all.

Looking forward to hopefully hearing some good news about the 614. Road behind the engine as a kid and even got to see it on its initial restoration in Hagerstown so it would be great to see it run again. Hopefully a great organization like FMW Solutions will get the call because then the engine would be top notch.
