THANKS FOR THE INFO. ON THE CURRENT STATE OF OLD
EP&SW RY. # 1..... A LOCOMOTIVE OF # 1'S VINTAGE MUST HAVE BEEN IN THE BACKSHOP AND REBUILT ANY NUMBER OF TIMES SENTS 1857 !....I WONDER HOW MUCH
IS STILL BREESE-KNEELAND ?.....BOY....SHE MUST OF
FIRED LIKE HOUSE OF FIRE WITH THAT TALL SHOTGUN
STACK !.....J.DAVID,..WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO SEE A PHOTO OF YOUR FANTASTIC RESTORATION ?.....

It is my understanding that the locomotive has significant items that go back to 1857 including the boiler and the tender. John White formerly with the Smothsonian believed the locomotive could have been as much as 80% origional. J. David expressed to me that the tender trucks
were replaced and it was obvious that the pilot wheels were also replaced. I was glad to hear that she was in better shape than expected when she left UTEP. Hopefully the citizens of the southwest will reconize the value of this artifact/locomotive. It amazes me that it is still with us today.
