A standard gauge Climax Class A is be restored by the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway. Formerly located in Cabin Creek, WA it has been relocated to Tillamook, OR. This locomotive had been converted to internal combustion but a boiler and steam engine had previously been acquired.

More details here: https://www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/one-of-a-kind-climax-locomotive-donated-to-oregon-coast-scenic-railroad/

Glad to read in the article that they are consulting with the Corry group.

Here it is during delivery 1907.

Surprisingly it is equipped with Air Brakes! If this is not that kind of surprise for Scott...
...he can make it run for passenger service...

Wow, I just did a spit take on that one.

I remind people how small they actually were, but when you put a 'standard' single air compressor hung on one, it looks gigantic by comparison.

I have NEVER seen an A with air brakes before. Ever. Not in any photos, the Syfert Climax book, or any of the "Logging Railroads of Pennsylvania' book. Heck, even knuckle couplers are darn rare, and most were narrow gauge. So if somebody told me to find photos of a Climax A with air brakes, standard gauge, I would have said it doesn't exist...before this.

But notice in that shot it's being unloaded; the couplers are missing, the headlight is covered, etc. It's like it's between owners in that shot as Climax tended to be a bit more 'formal' original delivery from Corry factory if you've seen them in-transit. And the side lettering would be more distinct, too. Would have been interesting to see an 'in service shot'... knuckles? Air hoses?

Having spent some time over to Corry looking at A313, this is even more daunting.

This Climax was delivered new to the Cascade Lumber Co. at Easton, WA.
