Does anyone remember a long-defunct railroad museum called "Trolleyland"? It was located in Grand Mound WA beside the i5. It was a project spearheaded by Richard Andy Hansen (1928-2005) which ultimately never worked out. https://maps.app.goo.gl/7ifkSNcUhmH5BrERA If anyone has any knowledge, documents, or photos (especially of the 3 BC Electric interurbans) I would love to see them.

The late Harold Borovec lived in Centralia and photographed many rail subjects. Martin Hansen "Logger Hogger" owns the Borovec collection. Ask him about photos. Harold's son still lives in the aria and may have memories of Trolleyland. |

This was a long time ago. As I recall they were in the Steam Directory. Maybe you can find a collection of those and see what information is in there. |

Seattle PI November 23, 1963 R. V. Day, secretary of Trolleyland Electric Railway Museum, has asked (King County) for 300 feet of spur track near the County airport. The rail hobbyists want to install the track on their 15-acre site north of Centralia where they have a Great Northern caboose and a Seattle trolley bus. Seattle Times June 5, 1975 Seattle trolley bus #798 donated to Trolleyland in 1963. Trolleyland closed some time ago and sold #798 back to METRO Transit for $500. |

Car 1225 was acquired in 1958 by Orange Empire Trolley Museum and moved to its site at Perris, California. Subsequently, it was sold back to BC interests (Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Society) in 2005 https://fvhrs.org/car1225/ . Car 1304 was reported as being acquired by Seashore Trolley Museum of Kennebunkport, Maine, and stored at a location in Oregon. Several decades later, an agent for Seashore showed up to move the car to Maine, and this caused some consternation between the parties. I found an obituary which said he (Richard) was born in 1928 and died in 2005. |

Martin Hansen is no relation to Andy Hansen. He is an attorney in Bend, OR. The color photo of 1231 at Snoqualmie was taken when the car left for BC. The black & white photo was not taken at Snoqualmie. As far as I know Trolleyland was never a "big deal". It never opened to the public and run by Andy Hansen and a few volunteers. |
