Fort Madison, Farmington, and Western Railroad was auctioned off by Sullivan Auctioneers during a 2 day auction in 2008. The second day, Tuesday, June 17th @ 9:00 am, was held onsite at "Minerville" for the larger pieces of equipment. There were two small standard gauge switchers in the auction: - 1940 Plymouth 35-ton Locomotive - FMF&W #1 1927 Vulcan 8-ton gas locomotive The Plymouth went to Aledo, IL now in front of the CB&Q Depot museum https://www.flickr.com/photos/astrogeek ... 928372564/ Photo of the Vulcan @ FMF&W in 2006 prior to the auction: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sneebly/3729225271/ Interested in where the 8t Vulcan might have landed. |

I believe the Plymouth in Aledo was recently sold along with the CB&Q waycar though I do not know their disposition. 1912 Baldwin 0-4-0 Indiana Northern #4 was purchased by the American Industrial Railroad Society in 2020 and is under restoration: https://industrialrails.org The Rock Island switcher was purchased by an individual in Denmark, Iowa along with a caboose and resides there. I have not personally seen any references as to the disposition of the Vulcan. |
