A brief history of Boise Interurban Rwy and Caldwell Traction Co. Can be found in "The Electric Interurban Railways in America" By Hilton & Due.
Some pictures and a somewhat more complete history of Caldwell Traction can be found in "The Log Trains of Southern Idaho" by Jim Witherell (currently out of print, sometimes available on ebay)
Jim is actually a wealth of knowledge on the area's traction lines, and has considered doing a book on them. I'm in regular contact with him, can put you in touch if you'll back channel me. Incidentally, Jim and I have an ongoing arguement concerning whether Caldwell Traction ever graded or built a line from to Wilder to Riverside (Adrian Ferry) on the Snake River. He says it did, I think it was planned but never built. If the line WAS built, it almost certainly would have run thru my farm near Adrian OR.
best regards,
Jeff
