The first "Steam Safari" (I believe that was the term) was in October, 1966 from Jersey City Terminal to Jim Thorpe. A CPR G-5 Pacific (1286?) led witha train of CNJ coaches from the commuter pool. This was only two years after the last Iron Horse Ramble. Phil Mulligan . |
