Recently learned that the Fox River Trolley Museum in South Elgin, Illinois has arranged to get Wendell Dillinger's old open trolley that had been at the Middleton & Hummelstown tourist railroad. At one time, FRTM (when it was still known as RELIC) ran an open car on their line but I'm not sure if this is the same car. Anyway, congrats to the folks there in South Elgin.

I finally saw some photos, and an explanation on the internet about the Wendell Dillinger open bench trolleys. Wendell had purchased two cars and from when I was a member for a short time back in the "RELIC" days at South Elgin, I remember the one car running there. This was apparently car # 441. The other car had large wood panels over the open portions of the car and was Rio de Janeiro car number 1719. The 1719 never ran at South Elgin but it's the car that has now made it back to the Fox River Trolley Museum.
