The Virginia Museum of Transportation posted today on Facebook that some kind of announcement about 2-6-6-4 1218 will be posted tomorrow at 12:18pm. No idea what it will be, but (spoiler alert?) it is not about 1218 being restored to operating condition.

See this has me confused, what else could it be then. It doesn’t need cosmetic, and it’s not being restored. Plus with the state of the 611 group I don’t think I’d trust them to do it properly anyways. But what else could it be Like the only two things I could see outside of more cosmetic work is it getting towed somewhere for some event or they'll do some 765/757 esk event where they do whistle blows via steam lines |

If I was a betting man I would guess that the locomotive has been sold to another outfit. |
