Some good news that the dedicated nearly all volunteer effort to return ex. Rdg. T-1 2100 to service will enjoy a major milestone in that effort this coming weekend when she undergoes her first fire-up.

If you're in the area and wish to attend please go to their website and follow the rules they've established for attendees.

Hearty congratulations to Rob Gardner, Forrest Nace and their dedicated volunteer army for this achievement.

Onward and upward. Ross Rowland

Ross,

Thank you for those kind words. We indeed lit the fire in 2100's forebox yesterday morning at 8:22am, about 1 month shy of the 10-year anniversary of the 2100's arrival in Cleveland from Richland, WA.

We do have a semi-public event scheduled for tomorrow here at the roundhouse. Largely for insurance purposes, we are requiring visitors tomorrow to be members of ASR. So if you're in the area and would like to join us, please go to our website and purchase one of our many membership options and you'll be able to get inside to see her in steam. We wpupd love to meet anyone and everyone who can make it.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to read g out to me or Forrest Nace.

Sincerely,

Rob Gardner
ASR President and 2100 Project Manager

Thank you to everyone here on RYPN who has supported our efforts over the past nearly 10 years since we started on this path to restoring the 2100. We couldn't have done it without you. However, we still have about another $139,000.00 to raise to get the locomotive completed and roadworthy.

This past weekend was a resounding success. Here's a link to Railfan & Railroad's press release this morning tell all about it:

Please consider donating today to help us finish the project this year:
