Post subject:  Alco S-2 Batteries

Hello all,

I've seen a post from several people who have said that they had converted their batteries from the locomotive type to using five 8D batteries.

I need batteries. Can someone who has done this conversion please reach out to me?

[Edited]We haven't done it though considered it. Assuming a 72v charging/64v operating system, 5 batteries will give you 60v operating. Be sure to adjust your voltage regulator down accordingly so you don't cook off your batteries. Get the highest cold cranking amps you can. I'm sure others will chime in with more/better info.
