The Durango & Silverton are partnering with the Colorado Railroad Museum to bring RGS 20 to operate the Cascade Canyon Winter Train on January 9th for the Presidential excursion and the weekend of January 21st-Feburary 1st for the General excursion

You beat me to it. Yes, RGS 20 is returning to Durango for some special excursions to Cascade. 20 will also be used for the Winter photography special in February 2026. Details on that charter will be announced soon. The excursions are intended to be a more affordable option for those who want a chance to ride behind 20 during this rare outing.

One correction on your post. The public excursions are on Jan 31st and Feb 1st.

And, while RGS 20 is headed to Durango, DRGW 315 will be headed to Colorado Railroad Museum to help power Polar Express train rides and to take part in a special “Florence & Cripple Creek Reunion” during Colorado Crossings in May 2026.

Now if that wasn't enough we are also planning to use our RGS caboose 0404 while in Durango with RGS 20.
