http://www.fecrs.com/FEC253.html I just found this site and want to let everyone know that I am part of the volunteer group restoring FEC engine 253 at Hialeah Yard in Miami, Florida. I am also the webmaster of the FEC Railway Society and I have put up a brief page outlining this project. I hope to have some pictures detailing the progress. Last time I was at the yard before the holidays the thing was in pieces getting the driver wheels ready to ship out for machining and the boiler was about to be worked on. Steve was also sand blasting various parts that needed it in preparation for paint. Feel free to visit the site at the top of this message to keep updated as I post progress reports. I am glad to hear that work is ongoing on this locomotive. My heart sank when I saw her in Nash, TX (photo below); I wondered what would her future would be. Keep up the good work. -James Hefner Hebrews 10:20a > http://www.fecrs.com/FEC253.html > I just found this site and want to let > everyone know that I am part of the > volunteer group restoring FEC engine 253 at > Hialeah Yard in Miami, Florida. > I am also the webmaster of the FEC Railway > Society and I have put up a brief page > outlining this project.
