The Town of Hartford, Vermont, owner of 4-4-0 #494, Manchester 1892 is ready to contract for asbestos abatement. The next question is the probable cost of rejacketing. We plan to save the old jacket as patterns, but none of it is reuseable, except possibly the bands and clamps. We plan to do the reinstallation so our interest mainly lies in the cost to have the parts fabricated since none of us has the tools or any experience in sheet metal. Has anyone costed out a job like this?
wrj494@aol.com |

You may want to give Conway Scenic Railroad in Conway New Hampshire a call. I do not know when the last time they had it done to the 7470 but they may be able shed some light on the subject.

TCHJJJJ@AOL.COM |
