Post subject:  Brian Jennison passes

I just learned the sad news today that photographer, author of railroad books Brian Jennison died earlier this month. He and Vic Neves had co-authored 3 hardcover books on the Southern Pacific and were working on a 4th.

While he had spent a great deal of his early years out West, he had returned to the area of his upbringing and lived in Newmarket, New Hampshire.

Brian was 75 and accomplished at a great many things. Perhaps most importantly, one of those things was that he was a really fine individual in all respects. A principled individual.

Brian will be missed. He had a keen eye for great photography and was willing to invest time hiking into places that proved to be worth the effort. We had some enjoyable phone conversations regarding those hikes. I am proud to have some of his Milwaukee Road slides in my collection.
