Post subject:  1906 Sheffield Model 15 inspection car reproduction

The abandoned Long Leaf Sawmill of the Crowell Longleaf Lumber company held one of its biggest secrets in a motor car shed as late as 1983 when the sheds were torched in an arson fire. Inside one of the sheds was one of the last, if not the last, Sheffield Model 15 inspection cars dating from 1906. One of the museum volunteers, a professional custom furniture builder, Glen Armand, has just completed a reproduction of a Model 15 car for use at the museum. The original car is seen in a 1974 photo by Alex Huff, and the new car itself with Glen showing it off, are seen yesterday at the museum, in photos by Glen's grandson Wimbley Vu.
