Triangle — Additional track laid at a major junction to allow trains to be turned by running the three sides of the triangle rather than reversing in a wye.

How do they differ?

The continent you're standing in. "Triangle" is British English jargon; "wye" is American.

As a practical reality, however, a wye may or may not have track continying off of it and serve as a junction with another line (think Keddie Wye, or the ends of Rockville Bridge, or....), whereas in British practice a triangle typically served solely as a turning point, although triangle junctions existed aplenty as well in the UK.
