Everytime I come to RYPN I am just amazed as to the amount of information available here. Has there been any thought to creating some sort of FAQ page and list the information by subject? Yes I know you can search the previous messages, but sometimes I don't know that I need that information. It's like the dictionary paradox, how can I look up a word if I don't know how to spell it? Hume and I have trouble keeping up with the editorial copy among our other responsibililities (I have 2 or 3 articles on my hard drive right now awaiting time to mark them up) and Keith has his hands full running Flimsies for us. eledbetter@rypn.org |

I think that is a good idea. If everyone takes a few minutes to come up with a common question and the answer, it would take a little compiling to come up with a great FAQ database. I am working on the NTHT website right now and I was thinking of adding a FAQ. For people looking for information on streetcar bodies, one of the proposed questions is: How much money can I get for this old streetcar/train/bus body built into my house/lake cabin/chicken coop? I would like to sell my old streetcar/train/bus body. How much will you pay me for it? I have started to write the answers twice, but each time, the reply is so smarmy and sarcastic that I have to throw it out. I am trying to come up with a definitive, yet polite response, because this seems to be a regular question. However, with so many variables, the answer can be quite lengthy. I need my head examined for even suggesting this but I would be willing to assist on this project because I believe in the importantance of it. In the beginning it won't be elegant but I think it will be very worthwhile. Let me know where to sign up. Thanks (I think), Mark Nevada Northern Railway Museum bassett@elko.net |
