Nice page on the Southern Pacific "Suntan Specials", passenger trains that ran from San Francisco to Santa Cruz. Excursions took passengers to the famous Santa Cruz boardwalk, said to be the last seaside amusement park left on the West Coast. Most of these scenes could be re-created. And waiting at Watsonville Jct in the early 1950s is 4-8-4 4449, looking a bit faded.
