A bit of interurban history was recently revealed in Ocean City, NJ. This press release was recently posted on the New Jersey History listserver (http://listserv.rutgers.edu/archives/nj_history.html) For Immediate News Release - January 29, 2003 DUE TO SEVERE ICEY CONDITIONS ON THE OCEAN CITY BOARDWALK, THE DISMANTLING OF THE SHORELINE SIGN LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF THE WALL OF THE MOORLYN THEATRE AT MOORLYN TERRACE AND BOARDWALK HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED UNTIL TOMORROW, JANUARY 30, 2003 AT 10:00AM. HISTORY WILL BE MADE ON JANUARY 30, 2003, 10:00AM AT BOARDWALK AND MOORLYN TERRACE IN OCEAN CITY, NJ 08226. DON'T MISS IT!! The wall-size advertisement for the Shore Fast Line, which was recently exposed during demolition of the Moorlyn Theatre, will be dismantled by contractors and donated by current owners to the Ocean City Historical Museum, Inc. The school district of Ocean City has offered to temporarily store the wall-size sign in their armory until a decision can be made regarding the sign's future. This will be a major task for the Stone Works Masonry Company as the sign is actually a series of 3' x 12' segments of Tin that have been painted with the Mural. Linda A.
