Can someone tell me what the building is in the back of this photo? It's at the end of the J Church line in San Francisco and is undergoing renovation today. I've been told this before, but can't remember.. What was it used for and what is the proposed use after renovations are complete?

The building is the 1880s car house of the San Francisco and San Mateo Railway, the first electric line in San Francisco.

It was closed after the 1989 earthquake; the building was to be demolished, but the City Landmarks Commission objects. Now the Municipal Railway has it on their someday list of things to do. So the buildings waits.
