The loading of the turntable has been completed and it has passed inspection for the move to Toppenish. It is loaded on a 55 foot flatcar with an idler car at each end. The idler cars also carry the trucks and ties. There is another car loaded with the bridge rail, cirle rail and pit cap beams. A fifth car carries the tower, ties and miscellaneous parts. The house had already been moved to Toppenish by trailer. The move will be by a special BNSF train tentatively scheduled to leave Yakima about 9 AM on Saturday, February 8. On arrival the train will be placed in the second yard at the Northern Pacific Railway Museum in Toppenish. Fundraising is underway to help with the reinstallation. There will be a workday at the engine house so it should be a good day to see an unusual train as well as check out the progress on NP 1364. Pictures of the move will be posted to website when they become available. Doug Shearer Northern Pacific Railway Museum ![]() Doug@nprymuseum.org |
