In reference to our earlier conversations about recreating trainsets, it quickly occurred to me while going through the Ozark Mountain Railcar site that two cars seem ripe to begin a re-creation of the "Bluebird": Coach #1399 and Obs "City of Peru." I also noticed a fair amount of ex WP cars that could probably get a good start on CZ. Feelings? Heck, all it takes is money, right? TJ tjgaffney@phmuseum.org |

I may be out of place in saying this but i think that a private individual already owns most if not all of the Bluebird outside of one dome coach that was caught in an aborted obs car conversion. Look on the web lurkers domemain. Web Lurker's DOME.main pfdx@aol.com |

The individual in question owns 2 dome coaches and the dome obs from the original 6 car Budd-built Blue Bird of 1950. The diner lounge is unaccounted for and the baggage buffet lounge is semi-permanently ensconced as part of a restaurant in Tampa (along with roughly 8 other cars). The interior was gutted in the last several years and the requisite hole was cut in the side for access by restaurant partrons. |
