Two Grants Approved for Projects
at the Cass Scenic Railroad

Last week Gov. Bob Wise announced the award of the remaining federal Transportation Enhancement Grants. The 15 grants total more than $2.9 million. Two of the grants are coming to the Cass Scenic Railroad.
$200,000 for the restoration of Climax style steam locomotive
$184,000 for the renovation of the historic former Chesapeake and Ohio Railway wooden water tower that is still being used to service the Cass Railroad's locomotives.

These grants are made under the 12 categories of projects eligible for funding that "have a relationship to surface transportation."
