Found this on a logging site on Yahoo Groups. It is a rather battered looking Shay that is obviously undergoing repairs. Anyone know more about this project? Where is it and what is going on? You'll need to join the site to see it, but you can click "no e-mail" and not get your mailbox crammed.

I think this is the Shay that is being restored by Scott Wickart (spelling?). It was at the Humbodt Northern (Henry Sorenson) before that.

Jeff is right. 2-truck shay #23 is owned and being restored by Scott Wickert of Centralia WA. I haven't spoke with Scott in a while, but I suspect the #23's restoration was put on the back burner after he acquired 2-truck Heisler, Curtiss Lumber #2. He's just leased the #2 to the Port of Tillamook Bay.

There are some photos and news on the project in the "news" section for 2000 on Dave Thomas' "Geared Steam Locomotive Works" page.
