Post subject:  journal box pads

We need a source for journal pads for 3 3/4 x 7,
4 1/4 x 8, and 5 x 9 journals. I trust someone knowes who makes them yet.

I think Unity still makes pads. I don't have access to their address at the moment. You may not be able to get smaller than 5x9. These pads can be altered by opening them and cutting the sponge and wicks down. Sew them up with cotton string. Be careful not to have them too squished against the journal as they will glaze rather quickly.

I posted this on January 27th.

The company they need to contact is Unity Railway Supply in Bensenville, IL and the product is Journapak" Journal Lubricators.

For the past year the machine used to make the pads has been broken but they have a new machine with expected delivery

sometime in March. I just contacted them in regards to 4 1/4 x 8 dry (they come in both dry and pre soaked) for a project I'm

working on and they quoted $26.83 each under 40 and $23.33 over 40. See link below.
