Post subject:  BGRM cars for sale

The Bluegrass Railroad Museum appears to be selling off a portion of their collection. I am sure this is old news to some, but it would be nice for some of the equipment to find a good home (especially the NC&StL dyanometer car and the IC pullan. Also 3 MRS-1's. I don't have particular details, but the equipment looks rough.

And on thier bargain table, an ex L&N USRA clone double sheathed boxcar for $100!

I've nothing to gain from posting this info, as I learned of it from the RailSale group on Yahoogroups.

To say that the equipment looks rough is a fair assessment. I was talking to one of our members and the condition of the dynamometer car was one of the topics. For all practical purposes, it's an empty hull and has likely been so for quite some time.

Post subject:  NC&StL-L&N Dynanometer Car

The Dynamometer car was built by the NC&StL, but sold to the L&N in the late 1930s, the L&N owned the NC at the time. The car was used by the L&N until the end of the steam era, and then was gutted and placed into work train service. That is the configuration that it survives today. Still, I think even as a shell it is an important technological artifact of the L&N and NC&StL
