In case you missed it in Flimsies, a story on the revival of the Kromer winter cap, by a firm in Michigan. In my youth, nearly every railroader wore one, though personally I found the wool a little scratchy. Guess they'll no longer be union made like the rest of the Kromer line, but the owner sounds like a decent fellow and at least they didn't ship manufacturing to China.

I bought one off Duluth Trading Co's. website a couple of weeks ago. It showed up in about 5 days, it fit, it appears to be solidly made and works just like the original (stays on my head and keeps my ears warm). I give it two thumbs up.
