Strasburg RR is not a museum, per se, but they do some of the finest freight car restorations I've seen. Considering they have no financial incentive to do so, this is pretty amazing. I was especially impressed a few years ago with their restoration of a Central Vermont boxcar. There's nary a single one restored in the railway's home state, but the folks in Pa. did a fine job.

I agree Bob. Strasburg is a business. They have a bottom line to watch like all companies. Restoration of equipment that really has no potential to generate revenue is unheard of in any other type of business.

The fact they do this type of thing, even during a slow economy is just incredible!
