Ali-Shan cog train?

Again from Flimsies, toward the bottom of article:

I wasn't aware the Ali-Shan had any rack railway track. Does it, or is the writer just misinformed?

Not that I'm aware of, Bob. I think its just a case of inaccuracy - substituting the concept of a cog locomotive for that of a geared locomotive.

The thought of a cog-powered Shay just doesn't parse.
