I Stopped in Ladysmith Wisconsin today and checked on the damage to the train. Everything has been set back on the track, and the damage could have been worse. All the cars had some windows boarded up before the tornado. RPO 552 has more windows boarded up, bent steps, and slight damage to the underbody fixtures. Combine 358 has similar damage and part of the roof is tarped. Coach 998 is also similar and the entire roof is tarped. They torched some of the brake rods in two to untangle them. At the Welcome Center next door I saw pictures and at least one of the trucks had been turned upside down by the tornado. Mike Nix 2rivers@upstel.net |
