Rumor: Another steamer in PA

I have friends that like to torment me.

I have been told that an established tourist line in PA will be acquiring a "new" steam locomotive soon. Of course, the person who told me could not tell me what line or engine, having been sworn to secrecy. All he said is that is not a restoration of an engine currently on the property - which ruled out my guess about the M&H 2-6-0 or Strasburg's CPR D-10h #972.

So, our PA brethren, anyone in a position to let the cat out of the bag?

Well I have heard that the West Chester Railroad will be getting ex-W&W #37 since Mr. Woodcock owns both...

*Both your allegations are probably very wrong, as far as I know. The #37 WAS owned by former W&W volunteer Skip Small (and I understand a couple others) and is still at the W&W's Marshallton Shops at last report. Although I would not be surprised if 37 DOES end up at the West Chester RR, it is not a case of "Woodcock owning both", as the WCRR is still a multi-person corporation, last I heard.

Actually Brian Woodcock is not at all involved with the West Chester RR. No. 37 is owend by Four States Rwy Corporation, the operators of the WCRR. It is not altogether clear when and if No. 37 will be moved off the W&W.

I can tell you CP 1098 class D10h ten-wheeler is back on the to do list. Once again just waiting for agreements from owner( Kurt, you know who that is).As for a new loco showing up somewhere, can't help you there. BTW, where did C&O 614 go anyway. Was headed west out of Allentown yard a while back. Just curious.

Yup, that was who I was thinking of. I stand corrected. I have not seen either of these gentlemen in a long time.

Don't know what you win. Who possibly would have the $600,000 to buy her from the guy in Canada? I'm sure DF Barnhardt made a nice commision as well. Next topic. Who has the rails to run a T-1 in PA? Kind of narrows it down, doesn't it?
