Post subject:  Railfanning considerations
Due to recent discussions sparked by the TRAINS magazine over railfanning activities, I thought everyone might like to see this HS notification.

I read that TRAINS magazine article this past weekend and I found most of the information in it to be reptitive and obvious. For example, the note about standing on railroad equipment. Couldn't even get away with that pre September 11.

I agree that the admonition to keep off of railroad equipment is nothing new, but KCSÂ’s directive to report, for detention and questioning, individuals who merely show interest in railroad assets, while standing on public property, hardly seems like business as usual.
