Re: the thread below on movie locomotives.. In the 1980s, it was said that Old Tucson was going to convert No. 11, the Reno, to compressed air operation. This was to involve gutting the boiler and installing a diesel compressor in the firebox, with huge air reservoirs installed in the tender. The question is, did they ever do it? I've been asking this of people for about 15 years, including a few V&T experts, and have never gotten a definitive answer. Surely someone among us has actually been there and checked to see if this vandalism actually took place? Reno at Virginia City ryarger@rypn.org |

I do not belive they did because when I saw her when I was 8 in 93 for the first time she was in full steam and in her last movie(in operation) Tombstone she is in full steam and looks great even theough she says western pacific on her.
