Just got a reply back from NH&I concerning the fate of #9 and the two Reading coaches:
"We are currently trying to sell #9 and will take all serious bids. The two passenger cars are being scrapped. They are in pretty bad shape. We will sell it for scrap value if you want it. It would have to be towed by truck."
False alarm about #9, although the two caoches are still in peril. Have alerted the proper authorities at the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society. Stay tuned for details....
Mike

mshirk@ix.netcom.com |

Jeff,
don't know, nor do I have access to that info. I just saw the posting on the Railfan WWWBoard about the possibility of the scrapping and decided to find out for myself. I asked NH&I if they could keep me in the loop. If I hear anything, I'll pass it on.
Mike
mshirk@DELETEix.netcom.com |
